The latest progress map

Atlantic City, NJ!

Well, they're in Atlantic City, NJ. Apparently they had a big thunderstorm last night and the mooring buoy to which they were tied pulled itself free. NExt thing they know they're washing up on a beach! Thankfully it was almost low tide and when the tide came back in, they floated off and all was good, but htere were some stressfull rainy/thunder/lightning moments before that happened.

New Map!

Well, I found a new map for tracking their progress. It's from a map of coastline geology, so there are some funky markings on the edge of the Atlantic, but it had enough coastline detail that I could figure out where things are.

The pictures Chad posted are great.

Barnegat light or bust!

Well, I talked to Chad yesterday. They were off the NJ shore, headed for Barnegat Light, NJ. I need to get a new map....

Here's where they are!

Chad and LeeAnn in NYC!

Hey there! They haven't had Internet access in a few days, but Chad and LeeAnn are now in NYC, last spotted at Liberty Landing. They arrived recently and got to see the Stautue of Liberty. In addition, apparently somebody is filming a movie near where they are currently docked.

After replacing the head gasket, the boat seems to be running better now and hopefully that will be the last of the engine troubles.

Progress map to follow soon.

The picture above is a good before and after illustration of Chad's varnishing work. In the front, there is varnished wood, above there is untouched wood, and on the left side you can see wood that has been sanded but not varnished.

You can see the unfinished wood reflected in the gleaming varnished part. Nice.....

Oh yeah - a photo of the whole boat

Chad said he didn't really have any pictures of the whole boat, so here are a couple of them. The Privateer 35 Cambyration anchored in Sawmill Bay, Chaumont, NY (13622).

Meant to post these before, I took them the morning before departure for Oswego.
